What type of wood is used to create a Pangea Map?
KOSKIPLY, or aircraft plywood. It is thin and lightweight with a beautiful finish. Sourced from one of the world’s leading forest products manufacturers in Finland. Due to the unique properties of each piece of wood used to make your map there will be slight variation in appearance from the maps pictured on our website.
Is the wood sustainable?
Yes. PEFC and FSC certifications ensure that the wood comes from responsibly managed forests.
How are the maps framed?
Professionally framed with white wooden moulding and high-quality glass.
Are there different woods or frames available?
We love to experiment with different materials and finishes and will release these as limited edition maps periodically - look out for them as stock will be limited!
Can I order different sizes?
Yes. We have 3 sizes available for most of our maps (mini, medium and mega) - see product descriptions for exact dimensions. If you cannot find the size you are looking for, please contact us and we will provide you with a quote for whatever size you are after.
How long will it take to get my order?
Custom maps: We are committed to crafting your custom map within 2-4 weeks of design approval and payment. However, if there happens to be any delay in production we will notify you as soon as possible. Please note: During the holiday season, this crafting time could take a little longer, if that is the case, we will ship your map EXPRESS (at no extra charge) which means you will receive it in time for the Holiday Season. Stocked maps: If you order one of our stocked maps, we can usually ship this out the next day. We will advise you is there happens to be a delay. You should receive it within 7 business days from ordering. Pangea Maps use a combination of courier and postal services to ship your order. Please ensure you have provided a delivery address where someone will be available to sign for delivery during business hours. Where possible we will provide a tracking number for your order. Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to a PO Box or Private Bag.
How are online payments processed?
We use Stripe Merchant Facility. This is a secure platform that protects your credit card information.
Does the final payment include shipping costs?
Yes. However, customs policies vary from country to country and you, or the recipient of your map, may be subject to import duties and taxes which are payable upon delivery. Please contact your local customs authority in the destination where your order is being shipped to.
What do I do if there is something wrong with my map?
Let us know as soon as possible and please photograph the defect/damage. We require notification within 7 days of receiving your map delivery. You can email or call us (contact page) and we will arrange for gallery of the map and send out a replacement as soon as possible (full refund is also available if replacement not wanted). In the case of our custom maps, we are not responsible for mistakes in the product relating to features that were submitted and approved during the ‘custom map builder’ process. This includes (but is not limited to); choice of scale and layout of map, spelling and grammatical mistakes or the inclusion of special location markers.
Can I return my map if I change my mind?
You are able to return any of our stock maps, if you change your mind (though we don’t think you will!). If after receiving delivery of your map you want to return it, you can do so within 10 days, given that it is in it’s original condition and packaging. You will just need to pay for the return shipping costs and we will refund the remaining amount you paid.
How do I hang a Pangea Map on my wall?
On the back of each map is a cord which can be looped over a nail, screw head or hook that is secured to your wall. Alternatively, you can use adhesive picture hanging strips on the edges of the map. Whichever method you choose to ensure that it is suitable for bearing weight on your particular type of wall. The weight of each map varies - check the specification for each product before purchasing.

We are passionate about protecting the world’s oceans and we make it a priority to support organisations and charities that are working on cleaning the oceans and beaches.
